Dong Qiang
Dong Qiang, Professor, Chief Physician, Doctoral Advisor, Director of the Department of Neurology, Huashan Hospital, Fudan University. He participated in the Program of Shanghai Subject Chief Scientist (in 2011), Program for Outstanding Medical Academic Leader sponsored by Shanghai Municipal Health Commission (in 2015), and Leading Talent of Shanghai (in 2017); and obtained the First Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, the Second Prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education, and the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award. He undertakes research on clinical treatment and neuroprotection of cerebrovascular diseases. He, as Principal Investigator, obtained National Key Research and Development Program (1 project), The General Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China (5 projects), Municipal-level Key Research and Development Program (1 project), Special Fund for Scientific Research in the Public Welfare Project, and National Ten-Year Hundred-Achievements Program; he participated in the Key Project of the National Twelfth Five-Year Research Program of China; he led and was in charge of the Major Basic Research Program, Ministry of Science and Technology of China (1 project); additionally, he, as Principal Investigator, participated in several international clinical studies such as SOCRATE and RESPECT ESUS. Supported by Three-year Action Plan for the Construction of Shanghai Public Health System and “Construction of Stroke Prevention and Treatment System in Shanghai” project under the New Healthcare Reform Special Program, he established the management mode of standardized treatment of stroke in Shanghai. He has published more than 200 original articles in both Chinese and English, 92 of which were SCI papers written as the corresponding author.
He serves as Vice Chairman of Neurology Branch of Chinese Medical Association; Deputy Group Leader of National Cerebrovascular Diseases Group; Vice Chairman of Chinese Stroke Association; a member of the Standing Committee of Stroke Prevention and Control Committee of Chinese Preventive Medicine Association; Ex-chairman of Neurology Committee of Shanghai Medical Association (7th Session); President of First Session of the Committee of Neurologist Branch of Shanghai Medical Doctor Association; Director of Shanghai Municipal Center for Medical Quality Control of Neurological Diseases; Director of Shanghai Training Center, Construction of Stroke Center in China.
